Faith Coleman
Faith Coleman comes from a family of environmentalists and primary producers, spending her childhood exploring tidal deltas in some of the most remote regions of Australia. Over the last three decades, Faith and her mother, Peri, have spent considerable time working to restore southern Australian coastal and saline aquatic ecosystems, jointly receiving the SA Science Week Unsung Heros of SA Science Award in 2017.
With decades of experience in saline aquatic ecology, alongside qualifications in remote sensing, leadership, business management and environmental management, Faith is just coming out of a four-year sabbatical, completing a PhD (under review) investigating the historical ecology of the Coorong, sponsored by the Lakes and Coorong fishery.
In recognition of her work with estuarine communities, including co-founding the Coorong Environmental Trust, Faith was awarded the 2022 SA Leader’s Institute Dennis Mutton Award for leadership beyond self.
