The River Murray Mallee Aboriginal Corporation (RMMAC) with support from South Australia’s Department for Environment and Water (DEW) and South Australian Murray Darling Basin NRM Region (NR SAMDB) have developed a Logic Model to provide RMMAC a strategic approach to attain Aboriginal Water Interests in South Australia.

The First Peoples Logic Model is based on objectives and outcomes that First Nations in South Australia’s Murray-Darling Basin region identified in response to Chapter 10, Part 14 of the Basin’s Plan via South Australia’s three Water Resource Plans. RMMAC undertook a 3-day workshop with their directors and members to develop the model as a meaningful and effective communication tool for First Peoples of the River Murray and Mallee.

During this presentation we will present the Logic Model, talk about some key areas that First peoples are currently focusing on to give effect to Aboriginal Water Interests and how the model is used as an effective planning tool when engaging with government bodies.
